SATURDAY

. . . . .  .No fish again today but the time at the river was very quiet and comfortable. Doggy got in some exercise chasing whatever critters he could find or imagine while I read a few chapters of  'The Young Lions', a pretty good book. I bought it on line for two dollars and it is on my Nook.Tomorrow I expect to try bowling again.

FRIDAY

. . . . Doggy and I spent four hours at the fishing hole today without even a bite. The quiet was nice and the sun was out in all of its glory but the first hour was a bit windy. The river came up 3-4 inches while we were there, if that continues we will not be fishing tomorrow. The water will be lapping at the edges of the sitting area.

WEDNESDAY

. . . . I really expected to go fishing today but the Radar pictures and showers off and on forced me to change my mind. . . . . I did make a pot of spaghetti sauce and read for a while, between naps. It was an OK day, bowling tomorrow.

THURSDAY

My only claim to fame today is my bowling results. 138-160-164 creating an average of 154 for the day. That is one of my best league day results in a long time. And for frosting on the cake we had nice weather around here with more to come. I am ready for that!

TUESDAY

. . . . . Got a note from Natalia today, she reminded me that the daily temps in MZT are close to 90 this month. She's just trying to tease me because it is so darn cool around here.. . . My bowling was nothing great this morning. I averaged 145 during the first five lines and it dropped to 134 during the second. The good news is that both beat my Summer League average. My average for the day turned out to be 140. I feel I will improve if I continue to concentrate on each individual shot.

MONDAY

. . . . Doggy and I were at the fishing hole for four hours today. It was not very warm and the sun was behind clouds most of the day but I did do some reading and even had a short nap sitting up. It started to sprinkle as we left but that did not last. That is the weather report from here today!

SUNDAY

. . . . I went into town today to do some shopping and to bowl another ten lines. I didn't take my jacket and you can be sure that it rained all over me. However, all was not lost because the first five lines I bowled a 140 average and the second set of five came in at 155. The final tally for the day was a 148 average. I felt so good about that that I didn't even notice the rain. I stopped in at Safeway on the way home and stocked up on some non essentials, had a bowl of popcorn and a beer for dinner while watching a movie called Joe Dirt. I was happy to have also found six more Park and Recreation sitcoms to watch. It has been a good day.

SATURDAY

. . . . .  .The river was down to an acceptable level so doggy and I spent three hours fishing today. Didn't catch any fish but it was comfortable enough to enjoy the time by reading and soaking up some quit time. It was a cloudy day and not really warm but we got by OK. I expected to get home in time to see the end of the NASCAR race but it was over by the time I turned on the TV.

FRIDAY

, . . . . . . My plan was to go fishing after lunch but while eating I noticed the rain was coming down so I immediately changed plans. According to the computer readout the river is down a bit more than a couple of days ago but I felt the possibility of rain was not worth the trip. I will look into it again tomorrow. There was very little rain this afternoon, perhaps the storm will have run its course by then.

THURSDAY

. . . .  .My plan was to go bowling today and then stop by the market on the way home but when I arrived at the bowling alley I discovered to my dismay that my wallet was not with me. I borrowed six bucks from one of my team members and bowled a 144 average before going home and assuring myself the wallet was not lost. Tomorrow I will try fishing again and the next time I go bowling I will stop at the market on the way home. Rain is somewhere on the horizon but I am not really sure where or when. It was a good day at the bowling alley, I am sorry my second game was only 125. Had it been better I would have more pleased with myself.

WEDNESDAY

. . .  .The weather was just right for fishing today, to bad the fish were not as accommodating . Doggy and I got caught up on our reading and playing in the sand. As per usual no fish were caught but what the heck, it was still a nice day to be alive.. . . . This evening I got my laundry up to date, tomorrow I return to the bowling alley.

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

TUESDAY

. . . . . It turned out to be a very good day. The sunshine was really nice to have even if the wind was a bit unruly. My bowling results left a lot to brag about. My first five lines delivered a 148 average and the second produced a 155. The final for the day was a whopping 152. And I topped it all off with a 193 in the tenth game. Now of course the challenge is to repeat that during League bowling on Thursday. Who knows, it just might happen!

Monday, May 19, 2014

MONDAY

. . . . . . Doggy and I were at the fishing hole for three hours today. It was a great day for fishing and reading but no fish were around. The water has dropped almost two feet in the past 48 hours but the rain has made it a bit dirty. There are a lot of small twigs, grasses and other stuff in the water.

Sunday, May 18, 2014

SUNDAY

. . . .  .The expected rain didn't start until I drove out of the driveway today. I believe it stopped shortly after I returned home. In the meantime I bowled five lines to produce a 131 average before buckling down and coming back with a healthy 145 during the second set of five. I was happy enough with 138 for the day because I barely broke 100 during the first two games. I also watched the NASCAR race while bowling and this evening I sat through three hours of 'Parks and Recreation'. That is just about as exciting as it gets around here these days.

Saturday, May 17, 2014

SATURDAY

. . . . .The river took a two foot drop overnight so I was able to shovel out about four inches of sand covering the sitting area at the fishing hole. I had a lure in the water for a couple of hours but lost it and the sinker when I found that it was hung up on something. . . . . The exercise was good for me but loosing the gear hits the pocket book pretty hard at today's prices. Tomorrow I return to the bowling alley for my exercise. This evening it will be a bowl of popcorn and another NASCAR race. The rain has been put off until tomorrow, it seems.

FRIDAY

. . . . .Direct TV disappointed me today by not keeping their appointment at 3PM. I do feel that I had caught their telephone solicitor in too many lies and innuendos.
They promised to come by and explain the program. It didn't happen. Don't trust those telephone salesmen/women folks.. . . .Doggy and I walked our two miles again today. Got away with no jacket but I was happy to have worn a long sleeved shirt. The weather report for tomorrow is  . . . .  .Ready?   Rain! NASCAR is running tonight, that is always fun.

Thursday, May 15, 2014

THURSDAY

. . . . . .Nice weather again today but it is not supposed to last. There is rain in the forcast. Of course.. . . .  .Bowling was not so hot, 121-134-150. At least I showed improvement as the games progressed. My team lost but we were close, we will get them next time we meet. Stopped by Safeway on the way home and stocked up on groceries. I'm set for another week.  Doggy is fine. Life is good.

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

WEDNESDAY

. . . . . This is a great day, the temperature inside is 82 and I have a fan in the window with the door open. Love it!  Doggy and I hiked to the river and back before lunch today. It was good to get him out before the weather became more than he could handle. I was also able to complete the laundry while things were still cool inside. I received a phone call from Direct TV this morning and after talking to the sales person for a few minutes invited them to stop by Friday afternoon. What problems have any of you had with the company? I'd like to know what to expect.

TUESDAY

. . . .  .The weather was delicious today! . . . .I ate it up with a bit spoon. I also had lunch with the Gang of '52', eight of us attended. Dewey was missing due to an automobile accident but he will be back next month. I went to the bowling alley after lunch and bowled ten lines. The first five came to a 136 average and the second was a better 145. I am happy that the second five lines were the best because I did not want 'getting tired' to use as an excuse. I stopped by Teigens place on the way home and Colton fed me some of his Chicken McNuggets and fries. Those McNuggets are pretty good. I do not recall ever trying them before. A bit salty so I won't order them on a regular basis but for a one time thing they were alright!

Monday, May 12, 2014

MONDAY

.. . . . I am very happy with the weather these days; it would be nice if the river level were to drop about three feet but that might be too much to ask for. I suppose the powers that be are draining the lakes behind the dams so they will be ready for the next big rainy season.. . .  .ChiChi and I walked for an hour today. That was our way of finding the water level at the river. Poor little doggy had a lot of trouble with the warmer weather but I slowed down a bit and made it a little easier for him. Spring certainly is nice right now!

Sunday, May 11, 2014

SUNDAY

. . . . . The weather was really the best today, a bit cool but the bright sunshine was most welcome. This is the first day this spring that I left the house without a jacket. We need more of that, like maybe the next ten years. . . . Bowling also went well. The first five lines I averaged 152.6 and when I had finished the second set of five I had a 155.6. That works out to 154 for the day, can't beat that as far as I am concerned. This evening I found three hours of Park and Recreation on TV. This has been a great day!

Saturday, May 10, 2014

SATURDAY

. . . . . . Sharon and Virgil stopped by for an hour and a half today. It was nice seeing them again. They were on the way to Oregon to visit friends and family for a few days. . . . Sharon got the doggy to take a 'treat' from her finger tips, that was some accomplishment. There was not a lot of rain around here today but the water is still a foot deep at the fishing hole so I am not bothering to go down there. NASCAR is on this evening so I will be in front of the TV for a while. Been feeling good and may return to the bowling alley tomorrow.

FRIDAY

. . . . . I delivered the car to R&R Motors this morning and Ray drove me home. I wasted the day in front of the TV before phoning to find that they were unable to repair the cruise control. The part they had been waiting for was not the part that was causing the problem. The part  they discovered is at fault has to now be hunted down and installed. I can not complain because of the age of the vehicle, 20 year old parts are hard to find. The gear shift lever has been looked into and those parts also have to be found. In the mean time the Gear shift is being held together with electricians tape and the car does not have an operating cruise control. The pleasures of driving an old [but paid for!] automobile! At least I was able to bring it home and it is available until parts are found. . .  .Life in the big city!. . . Lots of rain today, sometimes Big rain! Springtime! The river is very high but looks great and some fish are being caught. That is encouraging!

Thursday, May 8, 2014

THURSDAY

. . . . . . Winter has returned, lots of rain today. I did well [for me] while bowling today. I averaged 146 and one of the games was a 179. The other two were nothing to brag about but I did help the team a lot with the 146. Had a quiet afternoon, as usual, it has been a good day.

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

WEDNESDAY

. . . . . My BP checked out at 127/73 when I got up this morning. I have been feeling fine all day and looking forward to bowling tomorrow. I didn't do anything all day. The doggy was reminding me that he wanted to go walking but I was busy on the computer so that never happened. Which, of course, is not a good thing. I did walk some trash out to the trash can and stopped by the mail box on the way back. I should have stopped at the mail box on the way to the trash can and saved myself the trouble of two trips.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

TUESDAY

. . . . . I was not feeling 100% when I got up this morning and breakfast didn't help a bit. Before driving into town to bowl and check out my Comcast bill [as well as do some grocery shopping] I took my Blood Pressure. It was 106/63. While driving into town I felt that perhaps I would not try bowling because I felt no coordination at all in my muscles. I did proceed to Comcast and got my problem solved before discovering I had forgotten my grocery list. I drove home and ate some lunch then went back to town for the groceries. After returning and getting the stuff put away I relaxed in front of the TV around 3 PM with an apple and mixed nuts for dinner. I have since checked the B/P again and it is still only 113/68. . . . The weather was peachy-keen today, spring time once again! Love it!

Monday, May 5, 2014

MONDAY

. . . . I truly wish there was something exciting to write about today but no such luck. Got a few showers and the river is still too high for fishing. I may visit the bowling alley tomorrow and even that is an unknown. Thanks for checking in though, I really appreciate it. You are great people!

SUNDAY

. . . . .I was awake at 6 AM this morning, I have no idea what that was all about. I was happy to see three deer cavorting outside my bedroom window, that was a nice thing to see first thing in the morning.. .  . .Went bowling again and bowled eleven lines for an average score of 134. I am very stubborn, I have yet to give up on bowling. I stopped by Goodwill Store on my way home and bought two more books and found an electric tabletop BBQ. Now I must buy some top grade steaks and try to renew my BBQ abilities. They used to be pretty good. At least I guarantee they will be better than my bowling score. Maybe. . .  .There was more rain today and more is expected tomorrow, no biggy, this is the great Northwest.

Saturday, May 3, 2014

SATURDAY

. . .  . . .Ron Teigen's parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this afternoon. I attended and enjoyed the festivities, there were a lot of people and three times the food. . .  . They also renewed their vows which was very touching, of course. It was a fun time and before I left I was allowed to fill a paper plate with food and take it home with me. I took about four meals worth. I keep wondering why I have a weight problem. The weather is not the best but perhaps it may clear up enough to try fishing again soon. I saw several bank fishermen at the Camelot 'beach' as I drove by today, the water is high but a pretty green in color.

Friday, May 2, 2014

FRIDAY

. . . .  .ChiChi and I got in our walk today, forty minutes of exercise and exploring the way to the river. He again showed some discomfort with the speed and the heat. At one point we came to a shady spot and he refused to go further without a three minute break of panting and relaxing. It was not as warm today and rain is expected tomorrow, no surprise. Summer was nice, it lasted about two and a half days. .  . . ..

THURSDAY

. . . .As I type this the temperature at Kelso Airport is 88. That is 6:20 in the evening. Best weather ever! Now I wish the river would clear up and become fishable [is that a word?]. . . . .I left the house at 9:45 this morning and drove to Bernetta's house for a haircut before driving into town for my six week Pro Time exam. It turned out to be perfect so I then went to the hospital cafeteria for a nice salad. Things were going just peachy keen until I arrived at the bowling alley and fell apart. I came home with an average for the day of only 133. I went home and had a glass of wine. Now I feel better. I must add that we lost four today. Can't get much worse than that.
