SATURDAY

.............Today I walked to the library by way of the Malicon. It's longer that way and the walking is good for me. I would guess I got in about three miles altogether. Had another good lunch and started a new book while eating. Temperatures are nice, a wonderful winter for a Gringo from Kelso.
This sad little pooch was trying to beg food at the restaurant in Stone Island. I didn't give him anything in spite of his intimidating collar.
I snapped a few pictures on the way back to the water taxi and home. This is the local tourist bus.
I remember this place from last year, the remodeling project is coming along slowly. They'll get there one day.
This is the street going North toward the boat.
It looks like this guy is preening himself after his dinner.

  1. Glad you are getting your walking in to stay healthy. Excess weight is a fast way to shorten a life. Too bad Melvin hasnt learned how important being at a healthy weight is. But then his beers and munchies must be tough to put down when sitting around doing nothing all day.
Our Colt is on the countdown to our big vacation. Chi Chi is doing great. You're going to have to keep up the walking when you get home with him because he knows the time I get home from work at the school and meets me at the door barking for our walk everyday.
Sol is recovering but it was a close call. Luckily we have some highly skilled medical personnel, some kind caring police, and Sol has an amazing future wife and her family in our town. The Daily News must get their information from Melvin. But then thats exactly why I stopped taking the Daily News.

    1. Hmmm...Melvin is not in jail for drug charges with a $25,000.00 bond on one charge and a no-bail Department of Corrections hold on the other charge. I guess some people never learn, and others just take longer! It's like they say, "The nut doesn't fall far from the tree". That poor guy has spent most of his life in jail or prison and now it looks like he is headed right back. Testament to yur fine job as a parent!
Many of us are wondering, Caren, if you are ever going to return the clock that you stole from Billy. It was the only thing that mom left him and for you to go into his house and steal it from him was just plain WRONG. Mom wanted Billy to have that clock, not you. I know it, you know it, and Uncle Cliff knows it. Why you feel like you have to steal the only thing he had of moms is just SO wrong on so many levels....SHAME ON YOU for stealing it from him!

Jesus faced a mob that was eager to execute a woman caught in adultery. He put a stop to it with a simple challenge: anyone who has no sin in their life should step forward and throw the first stone. That sentence is often cited as a reminder to avoid judging others when there are faults in your own life that need to be addressed.

    3. Amy, that is from the book of John. Chapter 8, verse 7 and the words of Jesus were "He that is without sin among you, let him cast a stone at her."
John happens to be my favorite book. It holds some powerful verses.
Good Luck with your future. You are a lamb placing yourself in a wolfs' den. I will remember you in my prayers. Mel Larsen
